About Us

We are a group of passionate locals who have come together to work to regenerate Sandy Village. We believe in the power of community and the importance this voice plays within society, in shaping our future and in addressing the greatest challenge of this generation: climate change. We’re shifting the power back to the people! 

As individuals, we have our own connections to Sandringham. Some of us work here, some of us have grown up here, others are passionate residents who care for the local area. Many of us were introduced by Zoe Daniel during her election campaign and have been joined by a number of other enthusiastic locals with diverse skill sets and a desire for action. 

Village Zero is an incorporated association with environmental purpose.  

 Our vision sees the village as a space where community comes together. A place where our environment is protected and our space celebrated. A place where people work together and support each other to generate, store and consume locally produced renewable energy and act responsibly to reduce, reuse, repair, repurpose and recycle general and food waste. A place where people connect with nature and one another. A place where art is applauded and enjoyed and where our history is known, understood and respected by all. 

Sandringham will be an example of regeneration in an urban setting, embodying a state of harmony that deeply respects nature and ecosystems. We envisage our place as one that other villages and communities look to as inspiration for their own regenerative model.  

Village Zero is bringing people together to create and implement a shared vision for a re-imagined low carbon village where human needs coexist with those of the planet; where our relationship with nature is re-balanced and restored.
