SEE is the result of community groups Village Zero Sandringham, Bayside Climate Crisis Action Group (BCCAG), 3191 BeachPatrol, and the Sandy Beach Community Centre joining forces.
Village Zero Sandringham has been working with Sandringham traders and the community since 2022, educating on avoidance and reduction of single-use packaging and introducing recycling initiatives in conjunction with the Sandy Beach Community Centre and Bayside City Council.
BCCAG is a non-profit community organisation that works to reduce the impact of climate change and promote sustainability. We do that by creating and delivering information, facilitating action and influencing decision-makers.
3191 BeachPatrol has been active in Sandringham for 10 years. The volunteer group organises community clean-ups of the beaches and foreshore areas. In 2023 the group removed more than 400kg of litter, including more than 1500 recyclable items.
Changing Waste Patterns is a consultancy designed to assist businesses in changing their waste habits, effectively reducing their ongoing costs while enhancing their relationship with community and environment. The consultancy was founded in 2024 by Kate Stitfold, who is a founding member and volunteer at Village Zero, Sandringham.
